SBEWP helps local businesses and government agencies to connect with programs, tools, education, resources and financial incentives to help save energy and money while reducing environmental impact.

So far, the program has:

  • Trained local contractors on Building Performance Institute (BPI) practices for assessing home energy performance.
  • “Benchmarked” the annual energy consumption at several local schools to help administrators understand how their school is performing relative to others—a key first step to improving energy performance.
  • Created a Lending Library of tools and equipment that can be checked out by local contractors and used to conduct energy audits, helping them to avoid the need to invest in expensive equipment.
  • Helped the three counties to reduce their 2015 energy consumption by over 1 million kWh.
  • Helped the three counties to reduce their 2016 energy consumption by 823,573 kWh.
  • Helped the three counties to reduce their 2017 energy consumption by 88,734 KwH.
